Work Management - Prioritization

After entering and identifying the appropriate #templates for each project and inserting into the system you will have two types of projects to update and further hone in terms of work and hours: #inflight and #forecast.

#inflight  projects you will start at last key phase or delivery not completed. Delete all prior work to that point and link to the START Project Milestone. If you need to keep those hours for historicals I would advocate one liners each for Inhouse #blendedrates, one for contractors, and and another for #Vendors, #materials, or #lumpsum contracts. I would only focus on the last actualized totals [Monthly/ biweekly] from there its pretty much creating a plan as usual with SMEs Leads, etc towards a baseline and updating as necessary.

Second type of projects are the #forecasted projects which you can first shift through the Start project Milestone to the start date or planned quarter. These hours will then effect later months not the current or near future forecasts. Then you can review projects with the team to prioritize projects - likely by type of work, dependencies, or key resources. You can then move out project at the lower end to the next quarters. Focusing on the current and next quarters or months you can then review with project manager or SME the scope of each specific project eliminating activites all together (#scope) or minimizing hours (#allocation)
