Project controls with the vast amount of information that is available has the potential to provide immediate clarity that drive decisions with the ability to make the changes effectively within the organization by linking and validating decisions by viewing if your budget or resource pools provides the ability to execute effectively. Measure both the costs of needed pivots or changes as well as the benefit cost savings.

Both strategy talking and influencing each other to the tactical project level that feeds in as a feature, solution, or trade (in construction).

This with the added benefit of quantifying the cost savings or highlighting a need for course correction.
